140cm "Korpela" Bamboo Cross-Country Ski Poles - Finland - mid 1960sCouldn't find much info on the "Korpela" brand or at least that is how I read the marking on the inside of the straps. They hail from Finland, judging from the handles straps and the fact that I bought them there.. These poles feature traditional 5 inch bamboo ring baskets and leather handles straps. One of the poles has vertical cracks in the shaft, which is common with bamboo poles of a certain age. The typical fix is shown in the last picture tape

This "lett" model was the top of the line for Askjem's Elite brand

and the bases are impregnated with tar
