2023, Château Fuissé, POUILLY-FUISSÉ, 1er Cru, 'Le Clos', MONOPOLEThe 2023 Pouilly Fuiss Le Clos 1er Cru is more closed on the nose compared to the Les Bruls, though well defined and just requiring more time in bottle. The palate is well balanced with a touch of mint and white pepper on the entry. Light in grip but with fine body and depth, this fans out with a little more chutzpah than the Les Bruls on the finish. 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc

with a broad attack that segues into a concentrated mid-palate framed by supple

Floral and citrus overtones perk up the vibrant finish

with extremely well placed citrus and white peach flesh

but it is balanced by fresh mint leaf

chalky tannins coating the palate are currently chewy and contribute to a sense of austerity on the otherwise long finish

it has cohered and the stems are far more assimilated

and allowing it further time
