Pokot Stool 07This beautiful stool is part of an incredibly special collection of pieces which took 8 years to curate. Hand caved from indigenous wood by the Pokot people of Kenya, who are master craftsman when it comes to wood work. Pokot stools are incredibly one of one rare collection finds. The wood has developed beautiful patina from years of use.
These beautiful masks are hand-carved from indigenous woods and finished with brass and copper detailing
This figurative post comes from the Makonde who are skilled wood carvers from Tanzania
The horns are removed from their outer shell to reveal the white inner horn
Whilst their simplicity and lack of embellishment reflects their practical purpose
