Description
Lozi Stool 01This stool has been sourced from the Lozi people of Zambia. It was hand carved by the men in the community from a single block of wood using traditional tools and skills. The stool has developed beautiful patina and wear from years of use as a ceremonial seat. It has a small metal repair detail.
The stools are a strictly personal item and are said to be the seat of the owners soul
The bangles are hand-sculpted and finished with delicate and intricate carved patterns
The details start with the sourcing of wood
Community members would climb the ladder to fetch grains which were stored on the hut of the roof to keep them safe from animals
Makenge baskets are hand-woven in Zambia from boiled roots of the Makenge bush and naturally coloured with plant dyes
