Augelite with Chlorargyrite
Description
Augelite with ChlorargyriteAn attractive display specimen of Augelite featuring a few sharp, translucent, whitish color, somewhat blocky monoclinic crystals which are associated with small white, prismatic Quartz crystals and very rarely seen pale chartreuse green Chlorargyrite on matrix. This is one of the very few specimens of Augelite with Chlorargyrite that I have seen from Machacamarca and the color contrast makes for a pleasing specimen, as many of the Augelites from this
even if they are micro crystallized
as far as I can tell
A wonderfully well-crystallized
colorless prismatic Quartz crystals which are included unique and eye-catching “phantoms” of metallic golden Pyrite floating near the terminations of the crystals
The majority of the Wavellites from world localities feature either micro crystals
even though it's not a complete crystal
so if you're a collector of Bolivian minerals
termites (Isoptera)
Ahlfeld worked the San Jose mine and Itos mine (the other significant Andorite locality at the same mountain in Oruro) when the mines were used predominantly as a major source of tin to the United States during WWII
This thin elongated piece of Copal arguably has the highest "population density" of insects of any specimen in the lot as there are approximately 100 ambrosia beetles (Platypodidae) and a few midges (Diptera)
These crystals are very sharp
but the luster is superb as the piece glistens in the light
