Ponemah Mills, 8" x 8"One of the most historic vintage mills in New England, the Ponemah Mills in Taftville, CT was at its time in the 1860s, the largest textile mill in the world. It held thousands of looms, employed thousands of workers, many of them European immigrants and was an iconic industrial site in the site. It operated for nearly 100 years then lay dormant for quite some time until it was selected for a massive adaptive reuse project to turn the former factory
