Copper pseudomorph after Azurite ("Copper Rose")
Description
Copper pseudomorph after Azurite ("Copper Rose")This is a superb "floater" "Copper Rose" pseudomorph specimen from the only place in the world where they are found. Not only is the piece pristine and undamaged, but there are two additional and important aspects that make it stand out from others I've seen from this locality. First, the individual blades of the "rose" are incredibly SHARP and distinct, which is unlike many others I've seen from this locale, as they can be somewhat "lumpy" and

but you can barely see it with the naked eye
and the faces on the Magnetite crystals are rather smooth and shiny with good isolation between the crystals
modified rhombohedra of Calcite from the world famous Sherman Mine in Leadville
Most Diopside crystals you'll see from Mogok are often dark and typically opaque
and a worthwhile “hand”-sized display specimen of this classic material
notably lustrous
