Sarracenia 'Alucard'Sarracenia Alucard is a fascinating and mysterious carnivorous plant that is sure to capture anybody's attention. This complex hybrid of Sarracenia flava var. rubricorpora and S. Royal Ruby was created by Phil Faulisi in 2000, and since then, due to its relatively slow growth rate, it has stayed fairly elusive to many Sarracenia collectors. I doubt this lovely plant has anything to do with Edmund Blackadder but rather the stunning dark tones produced by its carnivorous pitchers
Mature specimens can reach around 15 cm in height and spread to a similar width once established
They resulted from a cross between a red Sarracenia x catesbaei and the cultivar Sarracenia moorei 'Brooks Hybrid'
As the pitchers mature
